Destin. Destin is often referred to by many as the Florida beach where the water is clearest. This beach is special. It is because of the Choctawhatchee Bay, just beyond the beach, that acts as a filter, taking in the darker sediment but leaving clear waters atop Destin’s fine quartz sand.
Clearer water visibility. You need calm, clear waters for snorkeling. Morning is the best time. Unless the weather is otherwise severe, the ocean is usually at its smoothest during the morning hours.
Sand crabs are the answer! Sand crabs can be seen only at night, and are often only visible with flashlights.
